Job Description

Leading a team in Cargo Handling OperationsContinuously improving the operations and pro-actively seeking opportunities for improvement.Client DetailsMichael Page are delighted to be working with a Global leader in cargo handling and distribution with a Global NetworkThe Operations manager will be responsible for leading from the front a small team, driving success across all aspects of cargo handling. The Operations Manager will set standard, drive team engagement cross-functionality. Continuously improving the operationsand pro-actively seeking opportunities for improvement. You will contribute to the success of the business through a strong focus on customer engagement, customer service and enhancing performance to ensure customer service expectations are met.Description

  • Liaising with all stakeholders to ensure the operation performs to the highest standard.
  • Establishing and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Staff resourcing to ensure the profile matches volume fluctuations and demands.
  • Performance reporting to senior managers within the business on operational, safety and financial matters.
  • Cost control and seeking out opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Ensuring compliance with all DfT/CAA requirements, as well as customer specifics.
  • Managing internal and external audits across Safety and Security.
  • Identifying the development needs of the team, to ensure operational requirements are met, acting as coach to the team.
  • Managing under-performance when necessary.
  • Identifying potential in the team and putting development plans are in place.
  • Maintaining good employee relations through effective communication.
  • Promoting a positive safety and security culture, around the JUST principles
  • Ensure the security integrity if cargo is protected.
  • Ensure all security documentation if fully compliant.
