Job Description

The purpose of this role is to to provide expert Mechanical Engineering design activities from concept design through to engineering release for manufacture.Client DetailsOur client manufacturers some of the UKs most well known brands and they pride themselves on innovation and customer satisfactionDescription

  • Ability to lead and drive robust technical solutions to complex mechanical design issues
  • Undertake detailed design and stress analysis using a combination of classical and FEA techniques.
  • Prepare technical documentation to support Engineering Design
  • Deliver mechanical engineering system design solutions
  • Ensure compliance with relevant design codes, legislative and classification authority requirements
  • Liaise with Classification 3rd parties to Plan and gain Design Approvals
  • Check and approve engineering drawings and specifications
  • Supervise draughtsman and engineers in producing concept and detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Participate in Design Reviews both internal and external
  • Assess client queries and provide technical engineering solutions as required
  • Liaising with clients to understand their requirements and to ensure the most efficient technical solution is provided
  • Liaise with subcontractors providing technical guidance
  • Responsible for ensuring engineering solutions are provided on time and on budget
  • Adherence to engineering and company standards and processes
  • Oversee and implement engineering design changes

  • Experienced in both design by analysis and design by rule methods
  • Experienced in Pressure Vessel manufacturing techniques
  • Experienced is using MathCAD and Finglow and ANSYS Workbench
  • Experienced in using Solidworks
  • Knowledge of industry guidelines such as IMCA
  • Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail
  • Experience with PLM system for generating and storage of engineering packages
  • Previous dive system experience would be advantageous
  • Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent industry experience
Job Offer-Salary - £35-45k-Full-time / permanent position-Location: Inchinnan
