Job Description

They are committed to innovation and the continual pursuit of improvement,and with a brand holding over 100 years of service they are now developing their technology capabilities, venturing into new markets and building their customer base further.On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Setter Operator on a 12 Month contract based within the clients site in InchinnanCore duties and responsibilities

  • A Setter Operator will join our team as CNC Operators/Team Members and be required to work within strict HS&E guidelines, maintaining a clean and safe environment
  • You will be expected to set and operate machine tools producing high quality components to tight tolerances.
  • Maintaining our excellent quality standards, that are integral to our manufacturing process, and delivering the customers needs
  • The role will require you to work to tight engineering tolerances; experience of this will need to be demonstrated at interview.
  • You will be working within a cutting-edge manufacturing facility, operating a range of Computer controls machinery, so a basic IT knowledge is essential
  • The Setter Operator must be able to critique their own work undertaking both visually and dimensional inspecting components.
  • Working with colleagues from across the business, you will be expected to assist with continuous process improvement
Key Skills and experience required
  • The Successful Candidate will be time-served and have completed a recognised apprenticeship including City and Guilds Level 3, National Vocational Qualification (NVQ)/Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline(original trade papers must be available for review before any interview).
  • Multi-skilled Engineer with the ability to use a range of machine tools, ideally working with Nickel and Steel and Titanium Alloys.
  • Experience of working in a Manufacturing environment, in an operator role within a volume manufacturing environment, with the ability to safely achieve performance targets.
  • Ability to read and interpret design drawings.
  • An up-to-date working knowledge of health, safety (including COSHH) and environmental procedures
