Job Description

Are you and Import / Export SpecialistDo you have experience in the Supply Chain of Excise Goods or ChemicalsI am looking for a candidate to step in to this newly created role where you will beresponsible for ensuring import/export processes, documentation and transactions are compliant with UK customs and international regulations to ensure on-time delivery of inbound and exported products. Primary liaison with external export/import partners including clearing houses and agents, and ensure duty payable product movements are correctly tracked using EMCS or international equivalents.Key Accountabilities:

  • Follow the company initiatives for Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) (e.g. H&S Policy, Golden Rules) and exhibit SHE leadership through own behaviours.
  • Responsible for organising export licences and declarations, and providing instructions to the Broker organisations for UK clearances for the companys imports and exports, in particular excise goods such as inbound ethanol raw materials and alcoholic sprit products for export.
  • Act as primary contact point for liaison with customs authorities such as HMRC & other agencies for material movements.
  • Responsible for ensuring all customs entries are completed for imports and exports, including EMCS transactions, and process clearances with HMRC/EMCS as required.
  • Provide advice to the business on import and export trade matters in collaboration with the Regulatory Affairs Manager and Business Leaders.
  • Ensure all import and export duty tariff codes are correctly applied in to all incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Responsible for ensuring material movements Comply with customs requirements and manage customs duty costs to a minimal exposure; regularly conduct regulatory self-audits / compliance to the latest customs regulations; keep customs documents in proper filing, maintenance, and retention systems.
  • Manage daily customs and Trade compliance issues and reports as per compliance standard.
  • Follow up with customer and Freight Forwarders to obtaining missing documentation and liaise with sales and carriers to ensure safe delivery of export products.
  • Deliver effective support for global materials movement.
  • To stay up to date with international legislation such as FDA protocols, as well as current export documentation requirements and product guarantee compliance processes.
  • Act as a customs knowledge holder for the company.
