Youth/Community WorkerWe are working with The Training Cave Club Limited, a social enterprise boxing and fitness gym based in Birstall, to recruit a part time Youth/Community Worker to lead its community and outreach projects.The Training Cave provides physical education sessions to education provision organisations and particularly focus on the most vulnerable in society, from physical or learning disabilities or even criminal influence.The position of Youth/Community worker will be based in their gym, and will also involve supporting sessions in schools, in the community and with partner organisations on their premises.Youth/Community worker will be responsible for the following:- Conducting 121 confidential interventions with young people.- Leading the organisation in identifying and assessing key youth problems in the locality and design projects and instigate actions to address those problems.- Ensure all activities are high quality and meet stakeholder obligations and lead community targeted events- Collect, monitor and evaluate data that evidences delivery of funder outcomes.- Promoting the work of Training Cave within the local community and ensuring that the views and needs of service users are an integral driver for the activities they deliver.- Responding to general and emergency requests for assistance from young people.- Chair and facilitate a Youth Council that will provide feedback to the Training Cave and to key community leaders.Ideally, the successful Youth/Community Worker will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with young people, &, have a proven record of successful project delivery whilst being able to build relationships with young people sufferingmental health issues or who are under the influence of drug or other criminal pressures.Job type: 2 year fixed term contract, part timeHours: 28/week - hours will be spread across the week and occasional weekends. Community outreach work is particularly focussed in the school holidays, through holiday clubs and open air training sessions.Salary - £23k to £25k (dep.on exp.)A clear DBS check would be ideal as would a level 3 Diploma in Youth Work Practice (although this is not essential)Social work/community/outreach/youth/project/youth worker/interventions
