We are specialists in delivering pipelines; design; marine; structural steel; tunnelling; fabrication; bridges and piling; and invest heavily in our substantial holding of plant; equipment and facilities.Job description:HS2 Area North EWC - LME WP16 - Utility CoordinatorAs a Utilities Coordinator, you are responsible for supporting the construction team in delivering the construction works associated with Curzon Utilities for HS2 area north EWC in accordance with the programme and the client’s requirements.You will report to the Project Manager and will assist in discussions with partners for utilities interface associated with the project.The Role

  • Liaise with PUC’s regarding timely completion for diverting existing apparatus.
  • Liaise with PUC’s regarding costing/resource.
  • Share lessons learned with other parts of the project/business.
  • Develop relationships with external stakeholders and engage with Knowledge Sharing and new innovations within the utility industry.
  • Liaise between stats and client regarding new service/diversion applications regarding street lighting, traffic signals and site connections.
  • Ensures the maintenance of updated utility services drawings for the scheme with existing and new services.
  • Liaise with Engineering & Design and Construction teams to resolve technical issues and clashes.
  • Provides coordination between utilities department, design partners, PUC’s, HS2, 3rd Parties and all other areas of the project.
  • Attending and chairing regular interface meeting with utility companies and completing minutes of these meetings.
  • Ensure all utilities and local authorities are kept up to date with progress on the project and build relationships with them.
  • Identify early warnings to project management team if any delays to the project occur.
  • Compiling and distributing information for all utility records searches.
  • Assist with design activities by attending meetings, reviewing documents, coordinating activities, ensuring all parties receive and review ongoing information, facilitating site visits, improving coordination.
  • Maintaining a utility tracker to make sure we have received construction drawings for all assets associated with the enabling works contract.
  • Assist Traffic Manager with NRSWA Permit / Noticing process / Schedule 4 Notices associated with non-contestable works.
  • Measuring up and submitting registration of reinstatement to local authorities following the closure of permits.
  • Attending highways meetings and traffic liaison groups.
  • Requesting quotes from all utilities for new supplies to site compounds work package.
  • Compiling line search drawings and utility plans and updating records where applicable in accordance with HS2 service avoidance guidance.
  • Controlling documents for utility team via Aconex/Asite.
  • Attend utility co-ordination meetings with all stakeholders.
  • Reviewing sub-contractors and early works utilities P6 programmes and providing updates where applicable.
  • Complied and maintained 2-4 week lookahead schedules
  • Maintained records and reasons for delay and fed this back into lead planner.
  • Manage utilities non contestable programme and report any issues to the Project Manager
  • Attend site meetings and be visual point of contact for utilities related queries.
  • Ensure all Health and Safety documentation (such as Risk Assessment, Methods Statement and all SSOW) is in place and follow clients Health and Safety Procedure.
  • Ensure correct as-built information is collated for the construction team, the client, and the statutory undertakers.
  • Your Profile
  • Experience of delivering major construction/Civil Engineering projects (preferably Rail or Metro)
  • Knowledge and understanding of NRSWA Diversion process
  • Experience of utility diversion in urban environment.
  • Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately. Suggests and implements improvements to systems
  • Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes with clarity, including managing others in this regard.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility.
  • Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card. SMSTS qualified.
  • NRSWA Supervisor accredited
  • Excellent team player, able to work competently and independently without continuous supervision.
