Job Description

Finance TechnicianBirmingham, B37 7YN (Hybrid)£23,204 - £26,950Basis: Full TimeHours: 37Work pattern: Monday to FridayType: Temporary - 12 Month Fixed Term ContractOur client has an exciting opportunity in the finance team. Reporting to the Accountant for Central Services the role will be providing high quality financial reporting and support to the Accountant and to Managers within the business areas. There is aninteresting breadth of work within the role and it is an exciting time in Housing each Directorate has its own challenges and targets to develop.About youYour responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the production of monthly management accounts in accordance with the published timetable.
  • To assist the Accountant with the accruals and prepayments spreadsheets and posting journals
  • Create and maintain working papers for technical accounting aspects of the Directorates.
  • Running reports to validate the accuracy of monthly figures in reports.
  • To support the budget setting process with areas of responsibility.
  • Support with the checking and running of finance reports for budget holders and distribution.
As Finance Technician we need you to have:
  • Experience within an accounts environment providing accurate and reliable information along with processing journals
  • Knowledge of computerised accounting in particular Open Accounts
  • Ability to produce accurate and detailed work
  • Ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines
  • Remains optimistic even in challenging circumstances
  • Takes ownership & responsibility for issues within their job role
