Job Description

Our Finance team, based at head office in Birmingham Business Park Solihull, are recruiting an Accounts Payable Assistant responsible for ensuring suppliers and subcontractors are paid accurately and on time. Reporting into the Accounts Payable Supervisor,youll work closely with 3-4 Accounts Payable Assistants, driving performance and offering daily support to ensure the function is operating effectively and efficientlyideally utilising previous CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) knowledge. Youll support the AP Supervisor/Manager with preparing payment runs for suppliers and ongoing reconciliation of all supplier accounts, in addition,to motivating and supporting a small team of AP Assistants. Youll oversee some HMRC interactions including monthly returns and verification of subcontractor statuss, whilst ideally providing CIS technical knowledge/advice. The Ideal CandidateFor this role were looking for someone with previous CIS experienceso its preferred that the successful candidate has a construction industry background. You must have led a small finance team previously and be comfortable commuting to Solihull to workonsite in the office with the rest of the team. Desirably youll have some kind of finance qualification ie AAT although this isnt a deal breaker. We need a people orientated supervisor with a driven work ethic whos committed to maintaining high workingstandards.
