Job Description

Accounts Assistant (Part-time)Birmingham, B37£13,998 pa (£13.46 ph)Motor Retail GroupMon-Fri 10am to 2:30pm, 20 hrs/wkRenault Retail Group seeks an Accounts Assistant to join our Central Accounts Team. This will be a permanent part-time position based at our offices in the Birmingham Business Park (B37 postcode). This role is a unique opportunity for you as an accounts professional to join a blue-chip organisation operating retail dealerships and workshops on behalf of world-renowned motoring brands such as Renault, Nissan, Dacia and Alpine.We are looking for a helpful and enthusiastic personality and someone that is a team player and willing to learn new skills.Working in a team of other Accounts Assistants and supported by the Head of Accounting, your remit will involve posting receipts, payments and bank reconciliations for the various dealerships and Head Office of Renault Retail Group.Daily duties include: posting cash, cheques, PDQ’s and BACs receipts & payments on a daily basis; allocating these to customer remittance advices and chasing remittance advices where absent. You will also be processing unpaid/bounced cheques and reinstateinvoices/credit notes; creating and posting of general journals; obtaining correct authority for any short payments/service fees/write offs; registering all purchase invoices/credit notes receivable along with any relevant delivery notes/purchase orders intoour mainframe system (CDK / Keyloop Drive); and reconciliation of all supplier statements.Periodic duties include assisting in raising miscellaneous payments with our Company Bank and posting them to the mainframe system; performing regular housekeeping routines within the Group sales and purchase ledgers and assisting with the Sales Ledger andPurchase Ledger Month-End Procedures for all our branches.As with any office role you should also expect to help with general admin such as handling phone calls, dealing with incoming & outgoing post, scanning of documents, filing and archiving.CDK / ADP Autoline Kerridge / Keyloop Drive experience is desirable. Full training will be provided to candidates that have worked with similar systems before.Essential requisites for candidates:

  • Local to our Birmingham Citibase Offices or within 40 minutes commute time
  • Current experience in Accounts Assistant, bookkeeper or Purchase Ledger
  • Confident and professional telephone manner
  • Strong attention to detail and organisation skills
  • Rapid and accurate data entry (to be tested at interview level)
  • Intermediate skills in MS Excel
  • Experience in handling finance / accounting systems (e.g. Sage, SAP, etc.)
Desirable
  • An existing qualification in accounts, such as AAT
  • Experience in operating any of the following dealership accounting systems: ADP Autoline (Kerridge), CDK / Keyloop Drive, Dealerweb, Pinewood Pinnacle, Reynolds & Reynolds Power, DealerTrack, etc.
This role will be a part-time role operating 5 days a week, Monday to Friday, from 10am to 2:30pm, with 30-min lunch break (20 hours per week). In return we offer a basic salary of £13,998 per annum.
