Job Description

Cleaner/HousekeeperAASC -WA3 6ZH37.5 hours - Monday to Friday 9.00-17.00Salary £17,500 + Company BenefitsHere at Serco we have an opportunity for a Cleaning Operative to join our close-knit team working in our Asylum Accommodation and Support Services Contract. AASC offers a range of improvements, with particular focus on assisting individuals through the asylum system.The primary function of this role is to provide cleaning services to a geographical area which may vary with business needs so a valid driver’s licence, a willingness and ability to travel within the region and occasionally within the UK is essential.You will be responsible for cleaning all areas at a number of properties using a variety of cleaning equipment and materials and to report any cleaning appliance faults promptly. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all Health and Safety procedures and regulations – COSHH- are adhered to and be competent in the use of all chemicals and cleaning materials and equipment provided.What you need to do the roleYou will be self-motivated, have experience of cleaning households / large accommodation, experience in managing time effectively and a willingness to work overtime in line with business needs.This is a role in which requires excellent communication skills both verbal and written due to the variety of countabilities which also include the following:

  • Working to tight timescales
  • Disposing of waste from properties
  • Replenishing stock inventory
  • Assisting other geographical areas when required
  • Using the appropriate equipment to clean carpets
  • Working individually/Lone working and also working as part of a team
