Job Description

Job Title: English Teacher (Maternity Leave)Location: Leeds LS19Start Date: Feb 2024Contract Type: Full Time/ 1.5 TermsPay scale: £130-£200 per day.Reed Education are looking to recruit an English Teacher to work in a good secondary school in North Leeds. The role is expected to run for 1.5 terms, so we are seeking an English Teacher able to commit to a long-term placement.Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive lesson plans in English language and literature, catering to different proficiency levels and learning styles.
  2. Teach various aspects of the English language, including grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, and oral communication skills.
  3. Explore diverse literary works, both classic and contemporary, and facilitate meaningful discussions to enhance students understanding and critical analysis.
  4. Foster creativity and encourage students to express themselves through writing, public speaking, and other forms of communication.
  5. Implement effective assessment strategies, such as assignments, exams, and projects, to evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  6. Provide additional support to students who require extra assistance, including tutoring and personalized learning plans.
  7. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued, respected, and motivated to participate actively.
Qualifications:
  1. QTS Degree or Equivalent Degree.
  2. Is flexible and has the ability to work in a number of secondary schools across the area.
  3. Has the ambition and enthusiasm to deliver English literature and language.
  4. Teaches the subject across KS3 and KS4.
  5. Has a presence within the classroom and will support the students and provide them with the guidance that is required.
