Job Description

My client is looking for a Payroll Officer to join their payroll team on a permanent basis. This is the opportunity for you.Role SummaryYou will be working as part of the Companys Payroll Team and your role will include the following:

  • Chasing and checking manual timesheets including piece worker sheets and overtime sheets
  • Calculating and processing payments such as holiday pay, sick, maternity and paternity payments
  • Answering staff queries about pay slips or timesheets
  • Make a major contribution to the ongoing improvement in effectiveness of procedures and controls
  • Processing starters and leavers
  • Processing weekly payroll
  • Management Reporting
Personal requirements
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • Proven payroll experience including PAYE
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills (confidence in working with numbers)
  • A keen eye for accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise work
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Good organisational and time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Good team working skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative and to high standards
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Good analytical skills
  • Flexibility - busy periods may require longer working hours
  • Excellent communication skills
