Job Description

Rate of pay: Starting from £13.00 per hrShift Pattern:

  • Tuesday -Saturday (AM start)
  • ThursdayMonday (AM start)
Knowledge and Experience required:
  • Holder of a full HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence
  • Hold a Certificate of Professional Competence
  • Have a maximum of six points on licence, no drink driving endorsements
  • Experience in using tail-lifts and double-deck trailers (desirable)
  • Basic motor maintenance skills would also be useful
  • Calm under pressure, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer focussed
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring goods are safely secured
  • Keeping your vehicle in good condition
  • Loading and unloading the vehicle, ensuring delivery of stock to stores in a safe and professional manner
  • Having the attention to detail and the ability to follow route maps are essential, along with compliance of Transport Tachograph and drivers hours legislation
  • Youll need to be self-motivated and happy to spend long periods alone as its often just you and the road. You will be accountable for completing driver trip sheets daily
  • A love of driving is essential and occasionally available for nights out in circumstances that prevent a return to base
  • A keen awareness of health and safety issues is also a big advantage
