Job Description

HGV Automotive TechnicianWolverhampton£34,000 - £38,000 annum (£17.50 Per Hour)Plus, Overtime, benefitsOur client is a well-established company that has been trading for over 20 years in specialising in the repair of refuse collection vehicles. They have an exciting new opportunity for someone to join there HGV Automotive Technicians team.Job Details

  • Carry out preventative maintenance inspections to the highest standard ensuring all vehicles are safe and road tested prior to confirming completion.
  • Undertake Six weekly inspections & Repairs on HGV Refuse Vehicles - Mainly Dennis Eagle and any other make and models of HGV Vehicles
  • Undertake MOT Prep & Servicing to HGV Vehicles
  • Undertake Six weekly inspections & Repairs on Trailers always maintaining all HGV Vehicles in the highest standards.
  • Undertake MOT Prep & Servicing to Trailers
  • Undertake Servicing and repairs to Body & Hydraulics on HGV Vehicles
  • Using Forklifts for Heavy Parts
  • Ensure any wheels removed are refitted in the correct manner and wheel nuts torqued using the companies calibrated torque wrenches to the correct settings. (As per the wheel retorque policy).
  • Ensure good housekeeping of the Workshop & vehicles and your work area at all times.
  • Ensure we comply with our commitment to our ISO14001 accreditation, by maintaining segregation of waste into the relevant areas at all times and general good housekeeping.
  • Where required, collect and deliver vehicles.
Qualifications
  • Strong organisation skills
  • Excellent communication
  • The ability to work alone and manage your own time
  • A full UK driving licence - Class 2
  • Forklift License
  • Irtec License
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions
  • Experience in working on HGVs
Benefits
  • Mon-Fri - 7.30 - 16.30 (1-hour unpaid paid lunch)
  • 8 hours per day with an hour lunch (40 one week)
