Job Description

HSE Recruitment are working with a leading manufacturing company who are looking for a Divisional HSE Manager to cover 3 sites in the West Midlands. This will be a challenging but rewarding role, were the buy in and team are already there, they just need a manager to come in and set a clear strategy and plan to improve Health& Safety.This role reports into the MD who places health and safety as the highest priority through both words and actions. He will do/provide you with what you need, ensuresthe other managers understand the importance of H&S and will provide you with the financialsupport to make sure the sites are safe.There are three sites that this role covers; Wolverhampton (200 staff), Wednesbury (200 staff) and Birmingham (10 staff). As such this role is focused on the two larger sites. The sites are similar in size but one is a brand new facility and the other a lotolder and more limited on space. There are two H&S Officers reporting into the role, one based in Wolverhampton and one based in Wednesbury. There is also the potential to add an administrator into the team.The challenge here is that there are notable gaps in the H&S management system, things are falling short of what they expected and therefore things are not where they need to be. We can explain the areas in more detail on a first discussion.The focus of this role is to co-ordinate, support and advise the Business on all aspects with regards to Health & Safety and Environmental compliance. To establish, manage and monitor standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure allresponsibilities associated with Health & Safety and Environmental legal and company compliance. To maintain, develop and secure our 45001 and 14001 management standardsWhat we are looking for:

  • HSE Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential for this role
  • NEBOSH Certificate as a minimum but desirable that you hold your H&S Diploma
  • An experienced H&S professional ideally at management level with people management experience or someone operating at a similar level.
  • ISO 45001 and 14001 knowledge and experience.
  • Someone who has proven experience of leading a site through improvements and a full gap analysis.
  • Someone who is down to earth, friendly, engaging and highly organised.
