Job Description

JA634 - CAD DesignerLocation – BillericaySalary - £CompetitiveOverviewWe are currently recruiting for a CAD- Technical Designer with good general background knowledge of carpentry and steel fabrication, materials, finishes and hardware for our client’s events staging company. The successful candidate will be office based, within a lively and dynamic design office overlooking a bustling workshop. You will follow briefs bringing design concepts to life by incorporating construction methods, CNC programming and machining. Present construction and assembly drawing packs for our comprehensive team of highly skilled trades people for the workshop and site installations. You will witness creative and innovative projects come to life from your drawings, which in turn will be seen at the latest product launches, live events, fashion shows and anywhere in between.Key Responsibilities

  • Produce technical drawings that demonstrate clear construction process
  • Develop concepts with the ability to utilise appropriate materials where required
  • Utilise your knowledge of construction methods for both timber joinery and steel fabrication
  • Research new CAD/CAM technologies when required
  • Work closely with relevant Heads of Departments i.e. Design and Construction
  • Personal Profile
  • Demonstrate the ability to work within a deadline driven environment
  • Flexible with working hours to meet deadlines where required
  • Produce accurate and detailed drawings to assist in concise manufacturing
  • Clear explanation of ideas through multiple sources of media
  • Problem solving and working independently to find solutions
  • Ability to prioritise projects within set timelines
  • Highly organised and excellent time keeping
  • Good general background knowledge of carpentry and steel fabrication, materials, finishes and hardware
  • Skills & experienceSoftware Experience
  • AutoCAD 2D – Essential
  • Other CAD software accepted
  • DesirableKnowledgeof additional software packages such as:
  • AutoCAD 3D
  • Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop, Google Sketchup
  • CNC nesting software
