Job Description

Senior Credit Controller

  • Job Type: Full-time, office based
  • Location: Biggleswade
  • Salary: £35k
My client is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join theirFinance Department. This role is crucial for maintaining an effective credit process and developing positive customer relationships, contributing to the success and profitability of thecompany.The ideal candidate will work within our key result areas; Business Performance, Customer Focus, People and Teamwork. Day to Day of the Role:
  • Opening and assessing new customer accounts.
  • Managing a wide and diverse ledger with effective cash collection.
  • Ensuring day-to-day management of customer accounts for completeness, accuracy, and validity.
  • Preparing internal reports including debtor days, queries, and cash management.
  • Calculating and reviewing bad debt provision.
  • Aiming for the reduction of overdue debtor balances.
  • Assisting team members in sales decision-making processes.
  • Providing a point of reference to departmental managers and the board through effective management of credit accounts and query reports.
  • Establishing and reviewing credit lines, updating and amending lines internally and with customers.
  • Engaging in direct customer contact and recognising when face-to-face meetings are necessary to build and strengthen relationships.
  • Leading in instigating and managing collection of payments via small claims or litigation as appropriate.
  • Acting as a role model for the organisation when meeting with customers.
  • Supporting the Credit Manager in matters relating to their role.
  • Fulfilling any other duties as required by management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Computer literacy with excellent Excel skills, including experience with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with customers in a pressurised environment.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels.
