Job Description

Drama Teacher

  • Permanent Contract
  • Location: Biggleswade
  • Salary Range: £30,000 - £45,000
We are seeking a passionate and inspiring Drama Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in the Biggleswade area starting from September. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated educator who is looking to inspire students up to KS4 and contributeto a thriving drama department. Day-to-day of the role:
  • Plan and deliver high-quality Drama lessons that inspire and challenge students up to KS4.
  • Foster a creative and stimulating classroom environment that encourages students’ artistic expression and love for the performing arts.
  • Effectively manage classroom behaviour to ensure a positive and respectful learning atmosphere.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students, providing constructive feedback.
  • Stay current with the national curriculum and employ best teaching practices to enhance student learning.
  • Engage in departmental meetings, parents’ evenings, and whole school training events to collaborate and contribute to the school community.
  • Uphold the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Proven experience teaching Drama within UK secondary schools.
  • Strong subject knowledge with a genuine passion for Drama.
  • Exceptional classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Skilled in planning, delivering, and assessing engaging and challenging lessons that cater to a range of abilities.
  • A firm commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils.
