Job Description

As an award-winning teachingagency, Prospero are committed to improving the development of students and we require you to help us along this rewarding pathway.DETAILS OF THE POSITION * Location - Newport* Position - Secondary Teaching Assistant/ Learning Support Assistant* Type of work - Teaching Assistant * Contract or position start date - ASAP* Duration / Likely Duration - 6 Months - On going* Contract type (temp/perm/temp to perm) - Temporary* Full time/part time - Full time* Minimum rate of pay - £77.48 - 84.69* Hours - 8:30 am - 3:30pmKey Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students, both in and outside of the classroom.
  • Assist teachers with planning, preparing, and delivering lessons that meet the needs of individual students.
  • Help students with their classwork, homework, and revision, and provide feedback on their progress.
  • Create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Supervise students during break times and lunchtimes and support them in their social and emotional development.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through involvement in extracurricular activities, such as clubs, trips, and events.
  • Carry out administrative and clerical tasks, such as photocopying, filing, and recording attendance.
Key Requirements:
  • Previous experience of working in a similar role in a school setting.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students of all abilities and backgrounds.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to supporting students learning and development.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and a willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider life of the school community.
ELEGIBILITY: *Hold Right to Work in the UK*Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
