Job Description

We are actively seeking a Licensed Animal Technician with a demonstrated history of effectively utilising a Personal Home Office License for Animals. In this role, your proficiency with this license is paramount, and we also welcome applicants who have heldand effectively utilised such a license in prior roles.Your experience with a Personal Home Office License for Animals is of great importance to us, and we value the expertise you bring to the position. Join our team and make a significant impact with your licensed expertise in animal care and husbandry.Responsibilities Providing exceptional care to the animals, carrying out animal husbandry and performing some technical procedures including:

  • Provision of adequate fresh food and water
  • You will also be required to perform technical procedures
  • Provision of environmental enrichment
  • Carrying out daily tasks which include temperature monitoring, animal checks and general housekeeping within the department
  • Ensuring that all animal husbandry and procedural records/data are up to date and accurate
  • Performing tasks in accordance with company work instructions and procedures
  • Providing weekend and bank holiday cover to ensure the animals are cared for 365 days per year
Skills and ExperienceThe successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
  • Natural empathy for animals
  • Hold or have previously held Home Office Licence modules 1-3
  • The ability to learn and the capability to further develop your skills in animal husbandry, and care
  • Experienced with In Vivo work
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986
  • GCSEs, or equivalent qualifications A*-C (4+) in Maths, Science and English or an Animal Care or Animal Management Qualification at Level 2 or higher
  • IT skills of a good standard
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A driving license is required for the role due to the location of the facility
