Job Description

Our client are a leading global leader in diagnostic measurement and instrumentation. Due to expansion, they are now looking to recruit for a broad-minded individual as to join their Radiation Protection team as a Trainee Radiation Protection Advisor (RPA) with a view to becoming a fully certified Radiation Protection Advisor and Radiation Waste Adviser.Key responsibilities:

  • Provide additional resource to the RPA team to support for the Assurance part of the business
  • Be mobilised to work onsite for both onshore & offshore clients
  • Carry out inspections and audits to support clients within the Oil & Gas and Chemical and Process industries
  • Provide training to clients’ staff members and undertake professional training and work-based learning
  • As training progresses, you will assist in providing day-to-day radiation protection support both in the UK and overseas
  • As you develop you will assist with the provision of support in the preparation of local rules and risk assessments
    • Requirements:
  • Educated to Degree Level in a Science or Engineering related subject
  • Currently working in a Science (Chemist, Physicist, Biologist etc.) or Engineering based position (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering etc.)
  • Site experience both on and offshore in the Oil & Gas or petrochemical process industries
  • You must be willing to work towards RPA 2000 certification and eventually Radioactive Waste Adviser accreditation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to deal with customers and colleagues alike at all levels
