Job Description

Senior Design EngineerAn exciting position has become available for a full-time Senior Design Engineer based in Bedford. The successful candidate will earn £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience.The candidate will work 8:3017:00 with a 30 minute lunch break at 13:00.Please note-This role could be home based but would require travel to Group Companies.Role Requirements

  • Must be able to operate efficiently and ACCURATELY AutoDesk Inventor 2017.
  • Ability to read and understand technical construction and engineering drawings.
  • Prior to starting work due to the security level you will be required to complete Disclosure Scotland Standard Vetting. It will also be part of your role to obtain SC clearance. These points will be discussed at your interview.
  • Previous experience in our field is not required but distinct advantage will be given to those from steel fabrication back ground.
  • Previous experience or knowledge of iLogic would be a distinct advantage.
  • Ideally educated to degree level in an engineering discipline.
  • Driving license and passport.
Role Responsibilities
  • Reviewing all orders that are issued from the Project Co-ordinators and contracts team to ensure relevant information is available to complete production drawings and schedules.
  • Managing workload and time scales with 4+ CAD Engineers to meet production and procurement lead times.
  • Working across at least 2 Group Companies Stafford Bridge and BenweldSecure. To provide accurate production drawings.
  • Attending weekly Production Meetings to update on live projects and timescales to production.
  • Running weekly meetings with CAD team.
  • Working closely with Design and Technical team on new updates, designs etc
  • There will be a requirement for completing manufacturing drawings for production team yourself.
  • Ensuring information produced for the factory is accurate and meets with our certification and the customer requirements.
  • Working with suppliers and group companies to develop cost effective design for fabrication.
Expected Training Requirements
  • Product trainingin house.
  • EFACS MRP SystemIn house training.
  • Further training requirements to discussed at 6 monthly reviews.
