Job Description

Morgan hunt are currently seeking a Fleet manager / Porter for a Hospice located in London.The post holder will hold responsibility for the management of portering services and fleet. The position is also responsible for security of the site, ground maintenance, stationery supplies, post services, mortuary management, furniture and equipment moves.The Porter and Fleet Manager will provide leadership and management and will be experienced in making decisions, solving problems, develop departmental procedures, keeping and updating records, participating in meetings across the organisation and liaisingwith multidisciplinary teams and departments.

  1. Responsible for health and safety of the team including risk assessments, equipment PPM checks, etc.
  1. Assist the Head of Estates and FM to identify areas of potential efficiency (financial and other) that could be maximised through different working practices or similar.
  1. Manage the procurement of stationery and provisions, stock control and distribution.
  1. Manage the setting up of rooms, offices, meetings, events and training.
  1. Take proactive and preventive measures to ensure safety of vehicles and drivers.
  1. Ensure that all vehicles are taxed, insured and serviced/MOT as required and that records are kept for compliance purposes.
  1. Make sure vehicles are always ready and available to meet the needs of the organisation.
  1. Make sure that all vehicles are correctly registered and maintained.
  1. Ensure that in-house inspections are carried out on a regular basis and that drivers undertake the required pre-user checks.
  1. Manage and monitor fuel purchases by administering fuel card system.
  1. Notify our insurance providers of any changes in regards to the fleet vehicles and drivers.
  1. Working with the facilities administrator to ensure 100% compliance with drivers licence checks for all fleet vehicle users no less than an annual basis.
  1. Investigate all accidents and incidents that involve fleet vehicles and produce periodic reports on such instances as required.
  1. Responsible for the administration of all road traffic, parking offences and PCNs ensuring copies are kept.
  1. Manage the fleet, ensuring there are adequate volunteers and paid drivers to cover the service.
  2. Responsible for managing night security.
  3. Ensure the Hospice grounds, car parks and any other designated areas are well presented, clean, tidy, safe and well managed.
  4. Manage the Mortuary and ensure the area & viewing room are well presented, safe & clean.
  5. Manage the mail services within the Hospice.
