Job Description

Family Support Practitioner Bath, SomersetCirca £22,450 per annumFull-Time - PermanentGiving children and young people the foundations they need to thrive.The roleAction for Children Bath West Childrens Centre Services provides group and individual support for children under 5 and their families in the Twerton and Moorlands areas of Bath. As a Family Support Practitioner, you will be providing sessions to supportand build family resilience, promote play and learning as well as support emotional development and wellbeing. The role includes the exciting opportunity to deliver a range of parenting programmes. Previous experience of delivering similar programmes wouldbe an advantage.You will make a difference by:- Delivering targeted evidence-based services to children under 5 and their families on a 1:1 and group basis, in the family home or community setting.- Planning and delivering play groups in the community based on the EYFS.- Assessing the needs of children and families and planning support interventions with the family.- Attending and participating at relevant multi agency meetings.- Establishing excellent rapports with other professionals and partner agencies to promote a strengthbased model.You will need:- NVQ Level 3 in Early Years or equivalent with at least two years post qualifying experience.- Previous experience working closely with local communities, children and their families.- Experience of delivering parenting programmes is desirable.- A Positive and Caring attitude is a MUST.- Excellent interpersonal skills.- The ability to prioritise and manage workloads.- Be able to work alone as well as within a team.- A strong work ethic and the ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.- A Drivers LicenceThe way we workYoull be joining a small, passionate team who work collaboratively and live our values every day.
