Staff Nurse Experienced or Newly Qualified Nurse How would you like to develop your clinical skills in the surgical Orthopeadic trauma specialty We are currently looking to recruit a full time Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our dedicated team on Forrester Brown Ward.Forrester Brown Ward is a 28 bedded, mixed gender surgical ward, caring for patients who have sustained orthopaedic injuries. The orthopaedic specialty is dynamic, forward thinking and constantly striving to improve the patient’s pathway.We welcome both newly qualified staff and those with experience to our team. Offering Mentor support in addition to the Senior Nurse and a period of supernumerary working will allow you to gain confidence and competence within your new place of work.Allowing staff to continue to maintain their professional development is very important to us and we are pleased to offer staff ‘in house’ training relevant to this specialty in addition to training available to all Trust staff. The nursing team are encouraged and helped with continuing professional development as well as support towards revalidation. We also encourage our staff to become link nurses within an area of interest to them and provide designated time to allow this role to enhance practice within our area.As a registered nurse you will be expected to care for patients with a variety of conditions, preparing patients for and recovering patients from surgical procedures, across the 24 hour period. Generally, you would be expected to lead in the planning, delivery and evaluation of care for 7 patients whilst working alongside a Health Care Assistant and with the support of the senior nurse.We aspire for all of our nurses to display compassion, motivation and enthusiasm to be working on our ward. As ‘fresh eyes’ to the area, we always welcome challenges to existing practice with suggestions for innovative change.It is crucial that successful candidate is able to work effectively within a team, demonstrating consistent professionalism and focusing on patient centred care at all times.
