Senior Network Engineer (ISP / Core Network)Bath / Bristol£65-£70K + 5 /5% Pension, BUPA Health plan, flexible working and accredited training Are you a hands on senior network engineer (or network manager who is still hands on) looking for the next move Got the blend of core network engineering and an ISP focused networking technologist that can apply the skills to a mixed vendor (Cisco / Extreme & Merchant Silicon) environmentIf so, read on...This is a rapid growth technology business based between Bath / Bristol, and they are on the cusp of real advancement when it comes to the network operations side of the company.Reporting to the CTO, this will be a delivery focused role and the company has a number of projects in the pipeline that will increase their data network footprint alongside on-going Automation & SDN and innovation. This senior engineering role will likely sit above the network / provisioning engineers and youll have a lot of influence moving forward by way of the technology associated with the network and on that, we need expert level networking knowledge along with the ability to act as lead and ultimate point of technical escalation (Behind the CTO). Its design, implementation and a focus on the efficiency brought by automation.The current environment is bias towards Extreme but we are happy to talk with SNEs regardless of vendor specific networking choice as youll get the chance to evolve and gain further exposure to the vendor technologies that best suit an innovative ISP.This is going to be a key team for the business and youll be the lead of the engineers - although we are not focusing on the people management side of the role as this is a senior engineer / technical lead rather than a hands off manager but the reality is, youll be responsible for defining how this works and should be ready to take that responsibility alongside the operational board.Who are you* Experience in design, deployment and management of EAD rollout (rather than LLU) as well as a core network* Lead / Senior Engineering status - ability to drive success and get the best out of the other engineers* MPLS / OSPF / ISIS / BGP* Previous experience of working in an ISP and if possible, playing a part in scaling a technology team. * Good architecture / design knowledge.* Management or input into software development (portals/automation) is desirable, alongside DevOps (Python would be perfect).Whats on offer £65-£70K SalaryAnnual bonusPension BUPA Health Plan On-going accredited trainingFlexible workingThe Next Steps If this sounds like you and you want to find out more then get in touch - Neil Crudden on .
