Job Description

Senior Backend Developer: Are you a hands-on Backend Developer with the ability to write clean code whilst playing an important role in mentoring a growing, dynamic digital development team Are you looking for a cutting-edge role working with some of the brightest minds in the industry working on some of the most up-to-date tech stacks and serverless databases Our client’s Development Team has grown from 5 to 55 in just two years, so when we say they’re successful, we mean it!The ideal candidate, who may be looking for a remote working opportunity, will have the experience and personality to succeed in a role that offers a clear career path into a Technical Lead position, whilst also utilising their extensive experience writing scalable JavaScript (Node.js) or PHP on a day to day basis. You’ll have first rate communication skills with the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders alike.   • Designing and building the backend of native web applications
  • Working on Google Firebase to ensure that all data and security for the GCN App is up to scratch, and developing the backend to ensure this
  • Working the client’s website security backend. This includes eCommerce stores and company web pages
  • Liaising with the parent company to ensure that security and data logic of the company App is up to date and in line with business priorities
  • Working closely with product owners to ensure standards are being met
  • Upholding high engineering standards
  • Using your skills and knowledge to problem solve issues with our products
  • Developing relationships with the wider Digital Team
  • Resolving bugs, and working with the QA team to maintain the functioning of the App
  • Being hands on with actual product development
  • Working closely with the Technical Lead to steer the direction of the product
    • Skills & Experience:
  • Experience writing scalable JavaScript (Node.js) or PHP Applications
  • Experience with backend frameworks such as Express and/ or Laravel
  • Serverless experience. We work on Google, but will consider any application that has worked on other serverless platforms
  • Developer mentoring skills and coaching experience - desirable
  • Good communication skills. You’ll be liaising with the Technical Lead, CTO and Product Owners to ensure the quality of the code for the App is exceptional
