Job Description

Become part of the NHS Blood and Transplant Service and help us beat the coronavirus pandemic.NHSBT have increased the number of blood donation centres across the UK to support with the fight against Covid-19.We are currently looking for cleaners to support the team with maintaining high levels of cleanliness and hygiene standards at all times throughout a session duration.Payrate: £10.19 per hour (£14.36 Evenings/Saturdays; £18.64 Public holidays/Sundays)Working hours: Part-time (27.5 hours + travel time)Start time: 12:20End time: 19:45Contract duration: until 30th April (potential extension)Travel locations: Bath Central, Bradford upon Avon, Bromham, Calne, Chippenham, Corhsam. Devzies, Frome, Keynsham, Marshfield, Melksham, Midsomer Norton, Warminster & WesburyPlease note one of the requirements for the role is a valid driving license and access to a car.Key Responsibilities:

  • Wipe all high touch items and surfaces using a viricidal cleaner with disposable cloth or disposable ani-bacterial wipes (see list below)
  • Notify Sister or Nurse in charge when materials are running low so that they can be ordered centrally
  • Dispose of cloths or wipes into a bin liner and tie securely before disposing into the designated bin or waste sac
  • Report site maintenance problems to the sister or nurse in charge
  • Ensure you wear appropriate PPE - gloves, disposable apron and suitable face covering
  • Keep your area clean and tidy
  • Cooperate with your work colleagues
  • To observe NHSBT standards on confidentiality of information at all times.
  • Ensure that you follow health and safety policies, risk assessments and safe systems of work to ensure your safety and the safety of others. Managers will address the health, safety and wellbeing of any staff they are responsible for, in proportion to the level of risk in their department and promote a positive safety culture.
