Job Description

A Regional Charity Organisation are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Officer to joining them on a full time, permanent basis covering properties across the Bristol, Bath and Trowbridge.

  • Full time, Permanent role working 37.5 hours, Monday - Friday
  • Salary on offer of £27,000 per annum
  • A valid UK drivers license is essential.
  • The successful candidate will be required to be on-the-road during the day travelling between projects in and around Bath, Bristol and Trowbridge with few hours spent every week in the main office based in Bath. Van and tools required for the jobwill be provided by the organization.
The Maintenance Officer role:You will provide preventative (planned), responsive and emergency maintenance to support upkeep of properties, offices, equipment, furniture, and fittings.Other Key Duties:
  • Inspection, maintenance and repair of premises, fixtures, fittings and furniture to ensure correct working conditions.
  • Advise the Line Manager of any maintenance problems which might affect the efficient running of any property.
  • The successful completion of maintenance request tasks, necessary updates and the closure of completed requests.
  • Undertake annual inspections to ensure necessary safe operation and calibration ensuring legislative requirements are met regarding powered equipment, machinery, chemicals, ladders etc.
  • Undertaking risk assessments in accordance with Julian House guidelines and procedures
The successful Maintenance Officer Applicant:You will possess a wide knowledge of all aspects of building maintenance including carpentry, painting, and decorating, plumbing and electrical works.Other key attributes:
  • Be able to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work and willing to undertake manual lifting and above all be diplomatic when dealing with staff, clients and the public.
  • proven experience in a similar role.
  • NVQ Level II minimum or City & Guilds or equivalent is desirable
