Finance and Operations Manager - International CharityBased: BathContract:Permanent. Hybrid working arrangements are in place and flexible working arrangementsSalary: £44,000 - 48,000 plus excellent benefitsThis is a rare and exciting opportunity to join the senior operations team with an international charitable organisation that exists to protect the natural world and defend our shared human right to a secure environment.This new role will assume a diverse set of responsibilities and deputise for the Chief Operating Officer and Global Finance and Resources Manager .The role will provide an exciting and diverse level of experiences across a fast-growing international organisation. It is an ideal role for a driven finance professional aiming to broaden their skills and build a senior career in the NGO sector.Responsibilities will include supporting and leading on multiple financial, HR, policy, compliance, legal and logistical issues across EJFs global operations. This is an important, challenging and hugely rewarding and exciting role, with opportunities forcareer growth within the senior management and operational team. Whilst based in the UK, the role aims to connect and build effectiveness and efficiencies into the charities global operations, with teams in 17 countries.ResponsibilitiesAssist in the preparation and analysis of budgets (grant, programmatic and organisational) and regular reporting, including for funders, Trustees and the senior leadership team.Support all operational requirements in the UK and overseas, helping to address governance and compliance needsSupport the Global Finance and Resources Manager in the oversight and development of the finance team.Monitor key projects and initiatives ensuring they are delivering intended impact, on schedule and within budget.Provide budget planning and financial support for funding applications and reporting.Oversee treasury management, ensuring the charity has cash holdings in secure, ethical banks in currencies relevant to our work.Support major procurements, ensuring the charity always achieves value for money in line with policies.Ensure all policies and procedures including safeguarding, DEI and other HR policies remain fit for purpose and are adhered to by staff.Support recruitment, contracting, training and appraisals.Required skills and experienceAt least 3 years of professional experience in accountancy, and ideally a working knowledge and experience of operational matters including HR, resources.Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or other relevant qualification highly desirable.Be reliable, determined, creative, positive, precise and resourceful.A high level of self-motivation and ability to work independently to deliver the campaign outputs and with strong team-working skills and a friendly, outgoing personality.Demonstrate a strong commitment to charities Mission, values and vision.
