Come and join us as a Registered Nurse working in our mental health Inpatient Services.Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) is the main provider of mental health services in Bristol. AWP is an exciting place to work as a Registered Nurse; each team offers a level of highly-skilled clinical supervision and vocational development, helping nurses to thrive in their work and to progress to more senior clinical and leadership roles. We have spacious, light and airy wards, and the staff work alongside service users and carers to create a supportive, compassionate community ethos, as well as providing evidence-based interventions that are tailored to individual needs and preferences. In each service, registered nurses are central to a multi-disciplinary team approach, which offers holistic, psychologically-informed interventions aimed at empowerment people to live healthy and enjoyable lives.Callington Road Hospital in Brislington (South Bristol) is a modern, campus-based mental healthcare facility, offering high quality care, assessment and treatment to people from across this diverse and vibrant city. At Southmead Hospital in North Bristol, our units are part of the acute hospital site, very close to motorway links and near the border with South Gloucestershire. We are looking for great nurses to join the following teams:Lime, Silver Birch, Oakwood and Cherry are our adult acute wards, providing high quality assessment, care and treatment for people with a mental health condition, whose needs cannot be met fully at home or in the community. Nurses on these wards support people who are experiencing an ‘acute’ mental health episode.Hazel is our male psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) at Callington Road. It shares many things in common with the adult acute wards, but it has a smaller client group to ensure the team can offer a more ‘intensive’ care experience. PICU admissions tend to be short, as the care focusses on helping people to manage the most acute symptoms as effectively as possible so that they can promptly begin their journey back into the community.Aspen is our mixed ward, offering tailored mental health care and treatment to people in later life. Aspen ward supports those who may have additional or specific care needs alongside (or linked with) their mental health condition, offering an enhanced form of personal and physical healthcare.Mason (S136 Suite) is our Bristol-based ‘place of safety’ for people whose mental health needs require an urgent assessment. The Mason team works with a small number of patients at any given time, whose length of stay tends to be short. Following their assessment, people may return home or they may be referred to another care and treatment setting (like an acute ward). We are looking for registered Mental Health or Learning Disabilities Nurses who relish new challenges, meeting fresh faces and accessing lots of development opportunities. We would love you to join us at our values-based selection day on Wednesday 13 January 2021 (this will be a ‘virtual’ event). Please submit your application by Wednesday 6 January 2021 – so we can send you an invitation in good time for the selection day.If you would like to have the opportunity to speak to someone at AWP about these opportunities please contact our Recruitment Business Partner, Claire Young at . Claire will arrange for you to speak to our nursing teams. For further details / informal visits contact:Claire Young Recruitment Business Partner
