Our client is currently actively looking to recruit a Fabrication Technician to play a key role ensuring the maintenance of equipment in busy manufacturing facility. Based on site at Radway Green near Crewe, Cheshire, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and development of a busy production site. You will work alongside other technicians and maintenance engineers to ensure the production area is running to its best. You will have knowledge of MIG/TIG welding capabilities as well as sheet metal experience.This role will provide you with excellent career progression opportunities, have the ability to work on a site, which has been rebuilt recently with the latest manufacturing equipment, work on a top-tier manufacturing site and be given full training to develop your skills within the business.Responsibilities:* Ensuring processes are maintained and operated in a safe manner and escalate issues affecting safety within the given production area* Provisioning of and adherence to dynamic risk assessments for non-standard operations and tasks* Ensuring that work undertaken adheres to relevant quality standards and provides support in the implementation of quality improvement projects* Attending and contributing to daily, SQCDP (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People) & DSUM (Daily Shift Update Meeting) cell reviews* Ensuring the uptime of manufacturing processes and facilities to meet production programme requirements (i.e. MMS (Master Manufacturing Schedule), efficiency, utilisation, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness))* Supporting implementation of continuous improvement activities* Providing motivation and support to apprentices to ensure development of a sustainable capability* Identifying, raising and implementing solutions to safety, quality and production problemsSkills & Qualifications Required:Essential:* Time Served Apprenticeship in a fabrication function* Experience in a Fabrication/Welding Role* Experience of material handling equipment* Experience working within a mechanical environment* Experience with TIG/MIG weldingDesirable:* Experience of Elevator Conveyance Systems* Experience in a medium/high volume production environment working to and achieving quality and delivery targets* Computer literacy (able to use Microsoft Office packages/SAP and Success Factors)You will have a proactive and enthusiastic approach to work, with excellent attention to detail.
