Job Description

Our Client is currently actively looking to recruit a Fabrication / Production Technician to play a key role ensuring the maintenance of equipment in busy manufacturing / production facility. Based on our clients site outside Crewe, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and development of a busy production site. You will work alongside other technicians and maintenance engineers to ensure the production area is running to its best. You will have knowledge of MIG/TIG welding capabilities as well as sheet metal experience.This role will provide you with excellent career progression opportunities, have the ability to work on a site, which has been rebuilt recently with the latest manufacturing equipment, work on a top-tier manufacturing site and be given full training to develop your skills within the business.Responsibilities:Your main responsibilities as a Fabricator will involve:Ensuring processes are maintained and operated in a safe manner and escalate issues affecting safety within the given production areaProvisioning of and adherence to dynamic risk assessments for non-standard operations and tasksEnsuring that work undertaken adheres to relevant quality standards and provides support in the implementation of quality improvement projectsAttending and contributing to daily, SQCDP (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People) & DSUM (Daily Shift Update Meeting) cell reviewsEnsuring the uptime of manufacturing processes and facilities to meet production programme requirements Supporting implementation of continuous improvement activitiesProviding motivation and support to apprentices to ensure development of a sustainable capabilityIdentifying, raising and implementing solutions to safety, quality and production problemsSkills & Qualifications Required:Essential:Time Served Apprenticeship or City In Guilds CertifiedManufacturing or Production Environment experienceExperience in a Fabrication or Assembly ideally within High Speed ProductionHands on Materials Handling experience Working in a Mechanical / Sheet Metal fabrication environmentExperience with TIG/MIG weldingDesirable:Experience of Elevator Conveyance SystemsExperience in a medium/high volume production environment working to and achieving quality and delivery targetsComputer literacy (able to use Microsoft Office packages/SAP and Success Factors)You will have a proactive and enthusiastic approach to work, with excellent attention to detail. You will have the ability to communicate at all levels and confidently articulate quality and safety information and the ability to read engineering drawings.Additional Information:Shifts - Mon - Fri: 6am to 2pm or 2pm to 10pm - Fri: 6am to 11am or 11am to 4pm (Rotational week by week)Advantage Resourcing is a service driven recruitment consultancy.
