Job Description

Are you passionate about making a real difference in people’s livesDo you believe in empowering individuals to reach their full potentialRole: Female Support WorkerLocation:Newton MearnsHours: Full time 40 hoursSalary: £23,000Contract: PermanentAbout the role:This role provides you with the opportunity to help a young lady with a range of support needs live her life safely and independently within the community. Working as part of a dedicated team you will help to support this young ladyin herown home and tobuild networks which will assisther to live a full and active life.What is the day-to-day of the role:

  • Support with personal care, medication, meal preparation and outings and activities when required.
  • Participatein developing and delivering a high-quality service and maintaining service users individual rights.
  • Work closely with the wider multi-disciplinary team and reporting to the Team Leaderto ensure the delivery of safe and compliant support.
  • Contribute positively to thedevelopmentof the service user.
  • Offerideas to generate creative solutions and approaches to issues.
  • Maintain documentation and records.
  • Adhere to organisational policies and procedures and ensure that all work is undertaken is in accordance with service users values and beliefs.
  • To participate in sleepovers based on a rota system.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years experience working with LearningDisabilities, challenging behaviour and/or complex needs.
  • Be able to maintain calm in stressful situations and recognise the signs of stress and where to seek appropriate assistance.
  • SVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (or equivalent)or SVQ Level 2 with a commitment to work to Level 3.
  • Full UKdriving licence (desired but not essential).
  • Be able to constructively confront challenging behaviours in a controlled and effective manner using agreed systems and approaches.
  • Be a member of the PVG Scheme.
  • Be fully flexible and ability to work on a rotational basis.
  • To undertake sleepovers on a regular basis with the potential for waking night shifts.
  • Computer literate (competent in Word, Excel,).
