Job Description

Our client, a highly respected Public Sector establishment, based in Barrhead require an immediately available Customer Service Assistant who has experience in a similar role for an initial 3 months. The salary for the position is £9.90 per hour 35 hours per week. 8.45 -16.45 Mon to Thursday and 8.45 to 13.55 on a Friday. Please apply if you have a valid in date Basic DisclosureThe main duties of the post include welcoming customers to the building, dealing with general enquiries, issuing and ensuring return of security passes and referring customers to the customer service centre where appropriate. The role will also involve supporting the Customer Service Team by responding to Customer Service e-mail, online enquiries and switchboard calls. Also supporting our digital customer service by helping Customers to self-serve by promoting online services.Main Duties:

  • The post-holder will be Customer focused and have a passion for delivering excellent Customer Service. Working in a fast paced environment providing a quality service to all customers of the Council be they face to face, via the telephone, in writing, via email or the website.
  • Welcome visitors and customers to the building; effectively and thoroughly processing enquiries and complaints, ensuring all visitors are recorded according to Health & Safety procedures.
  • Efficiently and effectively operate a number of IT systems including: Customer Record Management System, Q-Matic, e- mail, internet, Cisco Switchboard System, Outlook appointment calendars and such other information databases as may be required, to provide, maintain and monitor information, advice and support for customers.
  • Deal with and respond to general customer service enquires at the first point of contact and via our customer services mailboxes.
  • The post holder will be pro-active in ensuring that the reception area is welcoming, tidy and that all IT equipment is operational and that non-operational/faulty equipment is reported to IT.
  • Receive/sign for hand delivered mail and deliveries of stationery, equipment and furniture etc. arranging for collection by the addressee immediately after receipt or conveying to the mailroom.
  • Promote our digital services by assisting customers in the use of the self-service gadget bars and assisting in the recording of the uptake of this service.
  • Keep abreast of organisational changes in order to provide up to date information for all customers.
  • Operate professionally both as an individual and as a team member for the benefit of the customer at all times. A regular contributor of ideas & suggestions to the effectiveness and continued success/improvement of the service.
