Job Description

Family Support Worker required in Barnsley for position within Early Help service.This position is:* 37 hours per week - Monday to Friday, office hours.* Initial 3 month contract - with the possibility of extension.* £16.12 ltd per hourThe core responsibilities are:* To engage and support targeted families with children aged 0-25 years across the network of Family Centres within designated locality areas through targeted outreach/home visiting and Family support interventions as identified though the Early Help Assessment.* To support families through planned interventions that have clear initial assessment and targets and objectives which are reviewed at regular intervals with the family, utilising relevant and current holistic assessment tools.* To provide advice, support and guidance to promote learning and positive parenting skills utilising appropriate frameworks and evidence-based approachesWe are looking for candidates with the following:

  1. Level 4 qualification in a relevant field or substantial relevant experience of working with children, young people and families in the community.
  2. You will also have the ability to engage effectively with the local community to deliver information, advice and support to improve outcomes for children, young people and families.
  3. Your communication skills, flexible approach and flair for building relationships will really set you apart.
