Elevation Procurement & Supply Chain are delighted to be partnered with a manufacturing Project Engineering focused business in South Yorkshire to recruit a Senior Sub Contract Buyer:The Role:Working in a highly challenging environment with continual fluctuating demand you will be part of professional purchasing team which is required to service the requirements of extremely busy bespoke Contract Engineering and Manufacturing Company.Having significant previous experience of purchasing in a contract engineering environment the holder of this position is responsible for ensuring that specialist subcontract goods and services are purchased within required timescales, specifications and cost.Main Duties:Timely processing of orders for the operational business demandNegotiation with suppliers to ensure "best deal" for the organisation is always secured and maintaining liaison with suppliers to expedite timely deliveries.Proactively source new suppliers of products and services to ensure best value and prices and have the ability to match the required equipment with the correct supplierUndertake tender exercises with "key suppliers" as requiredMonthly reporting as requiredEnsure all processes & activities are conducted according to the Management Systems:Undertake any reasonable tasks or duties that may be requiredCost savings versus "estimate"Desired Skills & Experience::Ideally CIPS qualifiedBackground and skills in Fabrication / CNC Machining environmentPrevious purchasing of subcontract service2 years MRP/Systems experienceStrong people skillsProactive and forward thinkerCommitted and excellent team playerKnowledge of EFACS software and advantage.
