• Delivering annual driver CPC module, providing enough sessions to cover all applicable drivers in the Hubs
• Managing and supporting the on-site driving assessors to ensure workload and agreed outputs, standards are met.
• Delivering a range of driver related training based on business needs, including but not limited to; driver assessments, driver inductions, shunter training, banksman training, DD Operation and Isotrak training and coaching
• Ensure we have enough high calibre driver assessors with the right skills, knowledge and attitude, to ensure a high standard of driver assessments are completed as part of our driver recruitment process.
• Maintaining high standards, complete annual audits / quality checks on driver assessors
• Acting as Depot point of contact to coach and support drivers and driving assessors across the UK network to drive continuous improvement.
• Supporting the development of all new driver training solutions along aside the Driving Academy, as per the business requirements, including the introduction of new equipment.
• Be a Transport Systems specialist- Tachomaster / Isotrak / Lytx etc
• Supporting and monitoring the driving assessors to ensure all coaching and development aims to improve service, safety, legal compliance, and cost / damage reduction.
• Ensuring the driver assessments are current, with the latest legislation and/or company policies and are delivered in line with agreed format
• Supporting the operation with regular compliance audits, working alongside the auditor to establish areas for continuous improvement and addressing imminent issues at pace and with professionalism

Profile

• A full Cat C+E (articulated) LGV driving licence (essential)
• Transport Manager CPC qualification (essential)
• 5+ Years experience in a Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain background (ideally as a Lead Driver Trainer)
• Minimum 2 years driver training experience
• Experience of delivering training and conducting assessments in a fast-paced environment
• Experience of managing a team of Driving Instructors in multiple locations
• Comprehensive knowledge of drivers hours and tachograph regulations
• A working knowledge of Working time and Road transport directive
• Excellent presentation skills
• Maintain continuous professional development of Assessors and Drivers
• Ability to facilitate face to face and virtual training sessions.
• The ability to deliver continuous improvement collaboratively
• Performance improvement (Cost, Service, Compliance, Safety)
• Working collaboratively across departments to improve or create Safe Systems of Work.
• Live within a commutable distance of Barnsley

Job Offer

• Basic Salary of £38,000 - £42,000
