Job Description

For a beautiful part-time residence we are seeking a competent Live-out Nanny (40%) Housekeeper (60%) with good family cooking skills. Driving not essential but preferred, must be pet friendly (cats and dogs).The family split their time between the countryside and London so there will be regular periods of time when the house is empty and periods of time when it is busy depending on schedules.The London house is large, modern, recently refurbished, minimalistic, child friendly and easy to care for. Only the top floor is carpeted the rest has wooden floors. When the house is unoccupied the Nanny/ Housekeeper works independently on her own to keepthe household tidy, clean and running well. For the laundry shirts or sheets can be sent out to be laundered.When the house is occupied, the mother needs help with looking after the toddler (20 months old boy) and some of the cooking (when she is not cooking herself, which she loves to do). Meals include simple healthy family meals like Spaghetti Bolognese, leekand potato soup, Sheppards pie etc. The shopping is done online by the PA, who sometimes comes to the property. There is a gardener taking care of the outside and the family have 3 dogs who travel with the mother and two cats, who stay at the property. Thefamily are easy going, relaxed and like the house to look nice, well-presented and welcoming at all times.There are two teenage children who are at boarding school. When they visit, often with friends in tow, the mother will get extra help in for the cleaning. The boys do not require supervision but their visit makes the household a little busier.The duties of the Nanny/ Housekeeper

All housekeeping (dusting, vacuuming, mopping, wiping)
Changing of beds
Caring for laundry (shirts and sheets can be sent out)
Returning clothing to wardrobes/ cupboards
Tidying house and kitchen and readying it for next visit
Preparing family meals when required (no allergies or special diets)
Preparing healthy meals for the toddler
Laying and clearing the table
Ensuring the house is kept child-safe
Caring for the toddler (changing nappies, feeding, going for walks, play time) when required, which takes priority over housekeeping duties
Running errands, overseeing contractors, receiving deliveries
Helping with special small family events
Liaising with the mother and PA and reporting any faults
Some pet care (feeding etc.)
Occasional babysitting (paid extra)

Requirements:

Min of 3 years experience within private households
Experience of caring for a toddler (20 months)
Great housekeeping skills to high standards
Confident in cooking family meals (or follow recipes)
Ideally a driver
Fluency in English, Portuguese speakers welcome
Ability to manage and prioritize own work load
Current First Aid Certificate
Recent security check
Excellent references from past employers

We are looking for a reliable and dependable Nanny/ Housekeeper with great communications skills, a good attitude and unfazed by a household that can get busy. A Nanny/ Housekeeper who is easy going and professional. Some flexibility is much appreciatedparticularly with working very occasionally at weekends (time in lieu given) but this is not compulsory. The family travel internationally during the school holidays and there may be the option to join them.There is parking outside the house and several parks close by. Barnes Railway station is 10 min. walk away. The previous housekeeper was with the family for twenty years.To start as soon as possible after a trial and depending on candidates availability.Hours: Mon - Fri, 9am - 6pm with time for lunch which is providedSalary:£44000 - £46000 gross a year (£650- £670 net a week) and/ or depending on experience, plus holidays.
