Job Description

You will be building trusted relationships with other departments across the company to create and take opportunities that others daren’t.About the role:Xbite is growing, and that means more data to gather and more people to ensure they receive what they have earnt. This person will have complete autonomy over the payroll process from start to finish; from data gathering to inputting the information on our new payroll software and making everybody happy at month end, it will be yours.What you will do:

  • Standalone management of the whole payroll process from data gathering to reporting
  • Work closely with the existing payroll coordinators to learn and take on responsibilities
  • Develop a relationship with department heads to ensure coordination of data collection
  • Learn, develop and propose changes to bespoke internal systems such as Hub4HR
  • Operate, implement and control existing and future payroll software, taking responsibility for the timely and accurate completion of monthly payrolls and payment of staff salaries
  • Become the point of contact and control for amendments caused by staff changes such as; starters, leavers, salary increases, change in hours, overtime, bonus etc,
  • Oversee the calculation and reconciliation of relevant tax, NI and statutory entitlements such as SMP, SPP, SSP and ShPP or SAP where necessary
  • Ensure statutory returns are reported by RTI and liabilities paid over to HMRC when due
  • Manage and improve systems to produce payslips, P45s and P60s.
  • Administer the company NEST pension scheme including monthly input and changes
  • Take responsibility for the administration and renewal of staff benefits such as private medical insurance and managers car scheme including completion of P11ds
  • Manage and resolve queries (internally and externally)
  • Review and improve payroll procedures/policies to ensure full compliance and minimise risk, assisting with development of process mapping in the form of a payroll manual
  • Working within the accounts department, become part of the wider team by providing support to colleagues on a wider range of financial processing tasks where possible
  • Who you are:
  • A good level of experience working specifically with payroll within an organisation
  • Excellent working knowledge of HR/Payroll systems, legislation and best practices - Quickbooks online would be preferable.
  • Professional, approachable with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to take responsibility for a whole process which is essential to the business
  • Ability to meet deadlines and achieve objectives with accuracy under pressure
  • Must be meticulous, with a high level of attention to detail and able to look for, and pick up on, issues which may not be immediately obvious.
  • Adept at using IT driven systems and keen to propose improvements with an ability to detail specifications of desired changes
  • Possess completer/finished tendencies and is solutions-focused when faced with issues
  • A flexible team player working within the priorities of the wider business
