Our mission is to provide affordable yet aspirational homes to our communities, ensuring that new homes are accessible and attainable for all with a productsuitable for everyone.Avant Homes are proud to employ local people across our developments and within our regional offices, teamwork is key to everything that we do.We are looking for people who want to be a part of something special, so why not start the foundations and build your career with us todayDue to continued success, we have an exciting opportunity for a Group HR Advisor to join our team based at our Group head office in Barlborough, Chesterfield on a 3-month fixed term contract basis.This is a full time opportunity, however we will also consider part time applications.The RoleAre you an experienced HR generalist looking for your next opportunityDo you thrive in a fast paced and varied roleDo you want to be a part of a friendly, driven teamIf yes, then look no further, your next career could be with us!Reporting to the HR Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing advice and guidance to our employees and managers, with a willingness to carry those administrative tasks which sit within the team.This is an exciting and varied role, which will provide an opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join a Group HR team who have responsibility for activity across the full HR generalist spectrum, within a dynamic and fast paced business.This is a 3-month fixed term contact opportunity*Key duties and requirementsYou will also be responsible for but not limited to;Ensuring the business manages its people appropriately, adopting best practice and aligning with the company values and employment legislation, mitigating any risks to the business.

  • Providing advice and guidance on people related issues to our regional businesses and directing manager’s around best practice.
  • Responsibility for case managing any disciplinaries, grievances, welfare matters, employment tribunals and collective and/or individual consultations.
  • Coaching, supporting and challenging managers in the application of HR policies and procedures.
  • Supporting all regions in ensuring employee absenteeism is monitored and reported on a monthly basis and any issues dealt with at the earliest opportunity.
  • Liaising with Group Payroll in relation to HR and Payroll processing.
  • Supporting the team with general HR administration including drafting Offer Letters/Contracts of Employment and administering the new starter and leaver processes.
  • Facilitating and recording data from exit interviews for all leavers of the business and analysing for any trends or insights.
  • Building strong and effective working relationships with the regional management teams.
Who are we looking forThe successful candidate will be able to demonstrate proven experience within an operational HR environment and particularly across Employee Relations activities as a minimum.You will be a self-sufficient, experienced HR Advisor with the ability to provide excellent written and verbal communication, quickly build effective working relationships and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.To be considered for this role you must also possess:
  • A full driving licence and own vehicle as some travel will be required.
  • Extensive knowledge and application of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Current employment law and legislation knowledge.
  • CIPD level 5 qualified - desirable
  • The ability to work under your own initiative and manage time effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise workload with excellent attention to detail.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to changing requirements.
