Job Description

Role Purpose:You will be the technical specialist for data integration across Greencore. A key person to deliver integration between Greencores applications and into its data analytics toolset.Responsibilities:

  • Work with the architects to create the technical specification for data interfaces, adhering to the high-level architectural designs, as well as the detailed requirements of each project. Equally, you should challenge designs where appropriate, and suggestany improvements.
  • Setting and maintaining documentation standards for data interface specifications.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership of both internal and external developers, to ensure successful delivery of integration designs, covering non-functional requirements as well as functional/data requirements.
  • Design and develop DDL for any middle-tier database changes, keeping in-mind the expected read and write loads.
  • Work with the Test Manager to implement integration test frameworks for each type of integration technology.
  • Performance tune interfaces where required.
  • Investigate complex operational issues and help identify solutions for Live incidents.
  • Work with the architects to build prototypes using new, untested methods or even completely new integration frameworks.
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments and industry trends, identifying technologies and improvements that will benefit Greencore.
  • Work with IT Security team to ensure all developments have appropriate security controls.

What were looking for Experience with most of the following:
  • Developing using an ETL integration platform.
  • Implementing a database change data capture tool, such as IBM CDC, SQL Server CDC, Attunity Replicate, etc.
  • Design/development using Stream Processing frameworks, such as Spark, Storm, Flink, Stream Analytics, Kinesis, etc.
  • Designing and/or developing REST APIs and solutions that consume them.
  • Message Queues (such as RabbitMQ, IBM MQ, ActiveMQ) and/or Kafka.
  • Any flavour of Linux.
You will have clear communication skills, so that complex technical issues can be expressed in a way that can be easily understood by developers and other stakeholders.You will be comfortable working across multiple projects simultaneously and have the instinct to provide your focus where it is needed the most, in order to keep projects moving.You will have the technical confidence to challenge architectural designs or project requirements where you feel there is a better alternative.If this sounds like you,join us andgrow with Greencore, and be a part of driving our future success.
