Job Description

A Quality assistant is responsible for ensuring that through management and implementation of sites QMS in compliance to nationally recognised standards (GFSI/BRC), products produced adhere to and meet all food safety, quality, legislative requirements including those set out by customers specifically.In order to ensure this is achieved the Quality assistant must be proactive, objective, driven and maintain an approachable personality whilst maintaining impartiality with regards food safety over quantity.Reporting directly to the Management the associated tasks / duties of this role will include but not exhaustively:Daily

  • Steamer/ Dryer graphs
  • Daily/ Weekly/ Monthly Paperwork print off
  • Paperwork quality sign off
  • Random quality checks inside factory, Dryers/ machines/ steamers
  • Undertake daily CF118 pest control pest bite checks
  • Factory temperature & scales checks
  • Weekly/ Monthly
  • Manage the sites Pest control system, including site visits, as a point of contact for contracted services etc.
  • Internal auditing, GMP, Glass+ Plastics, systems auditing,
  • Sampling/ swabs for ALS micro lab
  • Chair and minute the monthly Food Safety Committee Meetings (FSQ)
  • Chair and minute the monthly HACCP Meetings
  • Minute team leader meetings
  • Yearly
  • Create, maintain and update the sites audit schedules / programmes (1st party) to ensure compliance to all requirements.
  • Calibration scheduling/ point of contact with companies
  • Executing BRC audits as a support and undertaking traceability,
  • Review, Maintain and implement improvements to processes, procedures and update as appropriate the sites Quality Management System (QMS) through control of the document management system whilst ensuring communication to the site of all updates
  • Participate in the maintenance and review of the sites HACCP system as part of the HACCP team.
  • Review, maintain and update the approved supplier database.
