Job Description

A UK café franchise currently require an analytical Management Accountant to join them on a permanent basis. We are looking for a results-driven and confident management accountant to manage the day-to-day business requirements. Reporting into the Financial Director, duties of the management Accountant will include analysing financial data, management reporting and monitoring expenditure, and ensuring accuracy of financial information. Based in Barking.

  • Review draft management accounts prepared by the outsourcing provider, provide commentary for variances to the Finance Director and review balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy
  • Preparing and maintaining budgets
  • Quarterly Forecasting and analysing budgets/forecasts/actuals
  • Manage the fixed asset registers
  • Analyse financial trends with weekly/monthly reporting
  • Creating and managing KPI reports (for the company)
  • Support month-end and year-end close process, including assisting with the year end audit
  • Maintain contracts with suppliers, making sure all income is calculated and accounted accurately/timely
  • Analysing financial performance of franchisee and giving recommendations to the Finance Director
    • RequirementsThe ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, problem-solving skills, be highly organized, and have good negotiation skills. The successful financial accountant should have exceptional attention to detail and be personable and resilient, as the role will involve interaction with many stakeholders.
  • CIMA qualified or part qualified, but seriously pursuing towards qualification
  • Good IT skills with advanced Microsoft Office essential (especially Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Additional skills in Power Query/BI/Tableau (very advantageous)
  • Negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships
  • Good communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Commercial and business awareness
  • A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data
  • Deadline-orientated and an ability to stick to time constraints
  • Good understanding of VAT (or an inclination to learn)
  • Proven ability of working under pressure and good business partnering skills
  • Efficient in producing and analysing financial reports
  • Knowledge / experience of Sage 200 a plus, but not essential
