Job Description

Streamline Search is currently collaborating with a prestigious and well-established freight forwarding company specializing in the shipment of marine and ship parts. Operating across London and the UK, our client offers comprehensive logistics solutionsfor private, commercial, and local government clients in the maritime industry.(Freight Forwarder) - Position Overview We are actively seeking a highly diligent and accomplished Freight Forwarder to join our clients dynamic team. As a Freight Forwarder, you will play a crucial role in managing the transportation of marine and ship parts, ensuring efficient and timely deliveriesto destinations worldwide. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless operation of our clients logistics services.

  • Organize and oversee the transportation of marine and ship parts, both domestically and internationally.
  • Coordinate shipments through various modes of transportation, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Prepare and verify all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and export permits.
  • Ensure strict adherence to customs regulations and international trade laws for seamless cross-border movements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers and suppliers to secure competitive rates and reliable services.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with shipping lines and other transportation partners.
  • Utilize advanced tracking systems to monitor the movement of marine and ship parts throughout the supply chain.
  • Proactively address any delays or issues to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges in the transportation process and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with insurance providers to secure appropriate coverage for shipments.
  • Analyse transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising service quality.
  • Implement efficient routing and consolidation strategies to reduce expenses.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, promptly addressing client inquiries and concerns related to shipments.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their specific needs and offer tailored logistics solutions.
(Freight Forwarder) - Position Requirements
  • Proven experience in freight forwarding, with a specialization in handling marine and ship parts shipments.
  • In-depth knowledge of marine logistics, including documentation, vessel types, and port operations.
  • Familiarity with customs regulations and international trade laws related to maritime cargo.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills to liaise with carriers, suppliers, and clients effectively.
  • Proficient in using freight management software and tracking systems.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced maritime logistics environment.
  • Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. (Desirable)
  • Certification from recognized freight forwarding organizations, such as FIATA (International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations). (Desirable)
  • Previous experience in handling oversized or project cargo for the maritime industry. (Desirable)
(Freight Forwarder) - Position Remuneration
  • Salary: £24,000.00 - £30,000.00
  • Working Hours: Monday - Friday 08:00 - 17:00
  • Wage based discretionary bonus
  • 20 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays
