Job Description

Account ManagerLocation: BarkingSalary: £40,000 pa, plus Car AllowanceShift Pattern: Monday - FridayHours of Work: 09001800 (40 hours per week, with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break)At Davin Foods we supply the top 5* hotels in London and the Home Counties, Event Caterers, and we are a key supplier to the Sports and Leisure industry supplying to major sporting events and stadiums, with freshly prepared fruit & vegetables.We are proud of our reputation for quality & service in producing the finest ingredients, and our approach means that our clients can relax in the knowledge that the essential groundwork has been done and that their order will be produced on time, in fulland to the quality expected.Due to our continued growth, we are looking for a motivated self-starter who will be based at our Barking Head Office. You will be the primary point of contact for a large portfolio of customers, where you will deliver a professional account management service,whilst identifying and converting any new business opportunities to grow sales value & margin.As Account Manager, you will be the primary facilitator between customer, business support and manufacturing functions, managing customer requests.Accountabilities:

  • Develop, manage, and control portfolio of existing accounts, upsell to existing customers, and develop new customers relationships and business opportunities (gaining insight into clients food buying habits).
  • Communication on day-to-day customer account activity, ensuring NPD, Office Administration, Production & distribution are engaged & consulted.
  • Consistently achieve personal monthly targets.
  • Drive successful contract and pricing negotiations.
  • Preparation of business plans to develop each account to its maximum potential.
  • Maintain a good awareness of market & competitor activities.
  • Generate presentations and regular KPI reports in line with customer requirements.
  • Attend and present competently at customer & internal meetings.
  • Attend trade & industry events to help build the Davin Foods brand image.
  • Able to react to customer issues which may arise and resolve.
  • Communicate and assist with tele-sales team to ensure smooth operation on a day to day basis.
  • Measures & KPIs:
  • Gross profit vs budget.
  • Customer retention.
  • Category/customer growth.
  • New business wins.
Competencies / Skills/Experience/ Knowledge:
  • Min 3 years Sales Management experience with a proven track record.
  • Previous experience within a similar role ideally with chilled food.
  • Knowledge of food manufacturing processes & procedures (desirable).
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills including PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Able to effectively challenge & influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Confident presentations skills to peer group and business colleagues.
  • Ability to prioritise, multi-task and work to deadlines.
You will need to be a Car owner/driver who is willing to travel, with a proven ability to work effectively in a cross functional environment.Benefits:
