Job Summary:As a Qualified Solicitor within the Private Client department, you will be responsible for providing legal advice, guidance, and representation to individual clients regarding various matters that relate to their personal affairs, assets, and wealth. Thisrole requires a high level of expertise in private client law and an ability to build strong client relationships.Key Responsibilities:1. Client Management:- Build and maintain strong relationships with individual clients to understand their needs and provide tailored legal advice.- Manage a client portfolio, ensuring effective communication and meeting their expectations within agreed timeframes.- Act as a point of contact for client queries, concerns, and updates, providing timely and accurate responses.2. Legal Advisory:- Advise clients on a range of private client matters, including wills, trusts, inheritance and capital gains tax planning, probate, estate administration, and powers of attorney.- Conduct legal research and prepare legal documentation, such as wills, trusts, and estate plans, to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.- Provide guidance on the creation, management, and restructuring of trusts and estates, considering clients specific needs and objectives.3. Representation and Documentation:- Represent clients in court proceedings, if required, including contentious probate matters, family provision claims, and disputes related to trusts and estates.- Draft and review legal documents, such as deeds, contracts, and agreements, pertaining to private client matters, ensuring accuracy and validity.- Prepare and administer lasting powers of attorney, assisting clients in appointing suitable attorneys to act on their behalf.4. Business Development:- Identify opportunities for business development and assist in nurturing existing client relationships to generate repeat business.- Attend networking events, conferences, and seminars to stay updated on industry trends, expand professional networks, and promote the firms private client services.- Collaborate with colleagues and partners to develop marketing strategies, contribute to client newsletters, and deliver presentations or workshops to potential clients.Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:- Qualified Solicitor with a valid practicing certificate.- Specialized knowledge and expertise in private client law, including wills, trusts, tax planning, and estate administration.- Proven experience in providing legal advice and representing individuals in private client matters.- Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify new business opportunities.- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients in clear and concise terms.- Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.- Knowledge of relevant legislation, case law, and industry regulations.- Proficiency in using legal software and case management systems.
