Residential Child Care Worker (Edinburgh) - Harmeny Education TrustSalary: £26,130 (unqualified), £27,525 (part- qualified) or £30,452 to £33,409 (fully qualified), depending on qualifications and experience, with a generous sleep-in allowance of £75 per sleep-in shiftPermanent - Full Time - 39 hours per weekAnnual Leave - Generous entitlement of 35 days for full time employeesPension - Auto-enrolment into a pension scheme with 3% employer contribution and 5% employee contributionWork Pattern - Various shift times including evenings and weekends. 3 week rotating pattern, including working 2 weekends out of 3. Shift timings are 7.30am-3.30pm or 2.10pm-10.30pm. Candidatescan also be supported through professional qualifications.The Social Care Community Partnership are currently recruiting for Residential Child Care Workers on an exclusively retained basis for the highly renowned and reputable charity called Harmeny Education Trust, based in Balerno, just outside Edinburgh.Harmeny offers therapeutic residential care and education for children aged 5-14 years, and will soon extend its care and education services to young people up to the age of 18. Harmeny is situated within a beautiful 35-acre campus with extensive woodland,allowing the children to learn and play in nature, and they also have an Outdoors team to supplement core learning.Harmeny has received eight consecutive Excellent grade awards from the Care Inspectorate which shows they are a firm sector leader for care and education. If you share Harmenys vision for children to have the love, encouragement and nourishment they need,to grow and reach their potential, this may be the job for you.What Harmeny are looking for:You will be a member of the Care staff team, which operates all year round. You will commit to creating a culture and ethos in which childrens needs come first, and provide them with security, safety, care and social development to empower them to reachtheir potential.Ideally you will possess relevant qualifications in line with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) requirements for residential childcare workers. However, Harmeny will consider candidates who are unqualified, or part-qualified (e.g. an academic qualificationbut not a practice qualification).You will also have a full, clean driving licence.You will have experience in childcare and / or working in residential settings, preferably with children and young people with complex social, emotional and behavioural needs and who have experienced early years trauma.You will have good communication skills, both written and oral, and be committed to high standards of care.Main Tasks and Responsibilities
