Junior FinanceAssistantBabraham (South Cambridge)£23,000per annumAn exciting opportunity has arisen with a growing bio-tech company, based in Babraham (approx. 4 miles South of Cambridge) for a career motivated individual to join the growing finance team in the role of FinanceAssistant.Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will see the successful candidate working closely with all members of the finance department and taking responsibility for the following:- Processing all types of Supplier Purchase Invoices:o Checking and coding of purchase requisitionso Logging invoiceso Matching and processing invoices against purchase orderso Dealing with any discrepancies and disputed items, with internal and external contacts- Communicating and building relationships with suppliers by phone and by email to proactively resolve queries and discuss payments and credit terms- Dealing with foreign currency transactions- BACS Payment runs- Regular review of aged creditors report- Reconciliation of supplier statements- Filing, archiving and document management- Credit Card statement processing and reconciliations- Dealing with correspondence to the Finance team via phone and emailThis client is looking for a junior candidate and will consider recent graduates and school leavers, as well as those with administration experience looking for a first accounting position.You must have a good standard of education (minimum grade C or equivalent in GCSE Maths and English), as well as a good standard of IT literacy (able to use Word and Excel at intermediate level). It is also essential that you have good written and spokencommunication skills, as well as a professional and mature attitude.You will join a friendly team, and will work in modern, pleasant offices. Hours of work are 09:00-17:00 (flexible) and upon completion of the probation period you may work oneday per week from home (subject to company policy).
