Job Description

We are delighted to be partnership with a leading life sciences organisation based just south of Cambridge as they seek to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join their team. This role has become available due to a retirement in the team and the reallocationof responsibilities. As this is a new role within the organisation, they are looking at both part time and full time candidates, with the role being able to be worked from 60% up to full time. The role also offers the flexibility to work from home 1 day perweek.As the incoming Assistant Accountant, you will be tasked with the following responsibilities, including but not limited to:- Preparing month end accruals and prepayments- Maintaining fixed asset register- Processing sales invoices- Variance Analysis- Assisting with budgeting preparation- Preparing VAT returns- Additional ad hoc duties as per the full job descriptionAs the successful applicant for this role, you will have experience working in a similar level accountancy role with strong knowledge of accounting procedures and processes. You will also have good knowledge of excel and finance systems, with knowledge of Sageconsidered advantageous. You will also have excellent communication skills both on a written and verbal level, strong attention to detail and be keen to learn and develop your role further.This role offers a good holiday and benefit package and the chance to work for a small but dynamic business.
